Freight Forwarder, Air ImportLocation: Seattle, WADivision: Air & SeaJob Posting Title: Freight Forwarder, Air Import - 108728Time Type: Full TimeSummary: Freight Forwarder Air Import is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient importation of goods by air, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination. This role involves coordinating with multiple parties, including airlines, customs agents, and trucking companies, and requires strong organizational and communication skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage the importation of goods by air, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destinationCommunicate with airlines, customs agents, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goodsTrack shipments and provide updates to customers as neededPrepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperworkEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade lawsManage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer serviceEducational background / Work experience:Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferredExperience in air imports is highly desirableSkills & Competencies:Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes:Knowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulationsUnderstanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage skills:Fluency in English is requiredKnowledge of additional languages is a plusComputer Literacy:Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with logistics software and systems is preferredAt Will Employment:DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees. Additionally, each employee has the right to terminate his/her employment at any time. *Except if employed in Montana, where termination requires just cause.Expected Base Pay Range: $22.50 - $30.50 per hourActual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.DSV offers a comprehensive benefits program designed to support the health and well-being of employees and their families.
